Established in the centenary year of the first women getting the right to vote in the United Kingdom, ‘Her House UK’ was founded by Aine Lagan and aims to give a platform to amplify the voices of Conservative women. We offer a platform for conservative women to speak about issues across the political spectrum – about the issues that drive them, about the issues they want to see changed and their take on the day-to-day events of politics.
Her House seeks to disprove the myth that women cannot be both a feminist and a conservative. HerHouse exemplifies the fact that ‘Blue feminism’ exists, and it drives the party and the government’s policy making. It seeks to showcase – and support – the work of Conservative women and encourage other women to become involved in politics at all levels.
Although we are based in the United Kingdom, we’re keen to hear from conservative women across the world and we want offer them a platform to share their views with us – it could be with a unique take on British politics, an issue they’re passionate about or a piece on their local politics.
In 2019, HerHouse are undertaking a number of projects, including looking into the lives of Conservative women throughout history and how they have shaped the party, the ideology and the country.
